Tanker owners are still making a killing as crude buyers react to the almost total halt of shipments from the Middle East.

UK pool company Tankers International reported that the 300,000-dwt Trafigura-controlled VLCC Hellas Paliros (2022) has been fixed by South Korea refiner Hyundai Oilbank at a time-charter equivalent rate of $289,000 per day for a 92-day voyage.

The duration and the vessel’s current location suggest a potential US Gulf loading.
