Top-Line Furniture Corp, based in Chicago, Illinois, intends to increase its annual imports from Malaysia to RM230 million in the coming years. The company, which has been sourcing furniture from Malaysia since 2000, has imported around RM840 million worth of goods from the country to date. Top-Line has established strong partnerships with major players in the industry, including Wayfair, Bed Bath and Beyond, Overstock, Walmart, Target, and Home Depot. With three distribution locations across the US, serving various channels, including wholesalers, online retailers, and direct-to-consumer platforms, Top-Line is one of the prominent US importers with a long history of imports from Malaysia. The growth in imports aligns with the company's expansion plans and new product sourcing efforts in Malaysia, aiming to reach RM230 million in yearly imports in the coming years.
The expanded sourcing will bring advantages not only to furniture manufacturers but also to supply chain participants, particularly micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
So, in addition to considering furniture-related stocks ($LIIHEN / 7089 (LII HEN INDUSTRIES BHD.), $POHUAT / 7088 (POH HUAT RESOURCES HOLDINGS BERHAD), $YOCB / 5159 (YOONG ONN CORPORATION BERHAD), etc.) for your watchlist, you might want to focus on wood and wood products-related stocks ($ANNUM / 5082 (ANNUM BERHAD), $TIMWELL / 7854 (TIMBERWELL BERHAD), etc.) as potential highlights.
